The pie charts in your post “Facebook vs Twitter” are a real eye opener to me. I did not realise that around 35% of users accessed their Facebook and Twitter accounts on mobile devices. Obviously, this has a huge impact on the page layouts of both these sites. Additionally, local marketing will take over from global marketing in the near future. This means, for example, that marketing for the local kebab takeaway will now compete with KFC. The map of marketing economies of scale will be redrawn.
